Vadim Shishimarin (21) Russian Soldier sentenced to life in Ukraine’s war crimes trial.

By Chuma Mubumbe The Russian soldier was sentenced to life in prison on Monday, 23rd May 2022 for killing an unarmed 63- year old civilian to death by shooting him on the fourth day of the invasion. Vadim has pleaded guilty to shooting the civilian, he testified during the four-day trial, he added that he carried out the shooting on orders from his superiors. “I regret it. I regret it very much. I did not refuse and I am ready to accept any measures imposed” he said. The court said Shishimarin had committed a criminal offense in compliance to international humanitarian law.
