Namibia held to a 1-1 draw in their opening match of the 2023 AFCON at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The late goal of Burundi ‘s striker Bonfils Bimenyimanadenied Namibia to secure 3 points at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg which allowed the two to share points in the first game of the group stage for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. 

Mamelodi’s star Peter Shalulile and PSL top goal scorer scored a magnificent out of the box goal in the 10th minute to give the Brave warriors the lead.

At the 88th minute Burundi’s striker Bimenyimana scored to equalise, allowing the two teams sharing points. 

In a matter of seconds Bimenyimana turned from a hero to a villain as he earn a second yellow card in the 90th minute due to his celebration.
