Deontay Wilder told skysports on Tuesday evening that he is planning to hang the gloves and has three or more years to fight.
“I have three years or less and this could be nine or six fights I would fight and after that I will be done with boxing” said the former WBC Champion Wilder.
Wilder will fight Robert Helenius in 15 October 2022 after he lost in a third stoppage fight to Tyson Fury this year. He said that he has had to fight the best in all his fights . “I’ve tried to fight nothing but the best.. .I’m picking up where I left off” he told Skysport. He further stated that he only have three more years left before he hangs the gloves.
Wilder won the WBC heavyweight and hold the title from 2015 to 2020, making him the successful contender for the WBC Heavyweight. He was ranked as the world’s third-best active heavyweight by ESPN, fourth by The Ring Magazine and fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board.
