NAMDIA to sponsor Namibian athletes

By Laurentius Murenga

NAMDIA Foundation has announced that it will sponsor Athletics Namibia through an invitation notice published on their social media platforms. The statement states that tomorrow will be the official handover ceremony for the 22nd African Championships on the NAMDIA rooftop at 10h00.

Athletics Namibia is yet to announce the team for the Confederation of African Athletics’ premier competition but Christine Mboma and Beatrice Massilingi have been ruled out of the competition due to injury. The competition will be held for the first time since the 2018 edition after postponements and cancellations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The competitions will be held between the 8th and 12th of June at the brand-new Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius, which is considered to be one of the best technical stadiums in Africa instead of the usual Stade Olympique d’Oran in Algeria.
