The Russian soldier was sentenced to life in prison on Monday, 23rd May 2022 for killing an unarmed 63- year old civilian to death by shooting him on the fourth day of the invasion.
Vadim has pleaded guilty to shooting the civilian, he testified during the four-day trial, he added that he carried out the shooting on orders from his superiors.
“I regret it. I regret it very much. I did not refuse and I am ready to accept any measures imposed” he said.
The court said Shishimarin had committed a criminal offense in compliance to international humanitarian law.
